The Mazda MX-5 Superlite

From car-maker giant Mazda comes the MX-5 derived concept known as the Mazda “Superlite”. In collaboration with the Cologne, Germany-based design studio Motorcity Europe, the automotive manufacture from Hiroshima, Japan came out with this “celebratory” racer. Pythagorean cup, also known as the Pythagorean Glass, Fair Cup and Pythagoras Cup. The Pythagorean cup is a form of drinking cup, which is a deep sense of control measures of a drink.

Tradition says Pythagoras, during water supply works in the island of Samos, around 530 b.C. moderated the workers’ wine drinking by the inventing the “fare cup”. When the wine surpasses the line, the cup totally empties, so the greedy one is punished.

“Aggelon Gi”, in Greek, means “Angels’ Land”. It also happens to be the name of the Winery Estate that has just recently launched a series of premium wines.

Aggelon Gi Estates’ latest contribution to wine serves as a symbol of hope and a ray of light in the otherwise bleak and dreary setting that has been the norm of late, no thanks to the crisis that the entire country is still battling with even now. Angels have always represented purity and hope, and that seems to be the starting point of Sophia Georgopoulou’s design concept for its branding, labels, and packaging.  (more…)

A sweeping font with clean lines.

The branding for Kalypso Hotel, a hotel in the island of Crete, was undertaken as a college project by Con Papanestis. He took inspiration from the location of the hotel when choosing the colors, strongly influenced by Crete’s azure sea and sky, and the simple, sweeping lines of the waves of the ocean.
