Some of you may recognize it as the car used in the latest Mission: Impossible film. But this concept car from BMW is more than a film prop. It boasts a lot of cutting edge features and a design that will definitely leave car enthusiasts overwhelmed. Well, almost.

The Vision Efficient Dynamics Concept from BMW aims to bridge that usually gaping divide between a top-performing sports car and an environment-friendly mode of transport. This plug-in hybrid adopts an eco-friendly stance, and it clearly shows in the use of a three-cylinder turbodiesel engine.

This 356 hp concept has a top speed of 62 mph in just a matter of 4.8 seconds. Its engine, along with its twin electric motors will enable the car to run solely on electric power for the first half hour, or 31 minutes, to be more precise. Ultimately, it is eyeing 62.6 mpg during that span of time.
