Apple iPhone 5

5 from Apple.

The lightest and thinnest iPhone yet (so far) has finally been revealed to the world by Apple who, according to Senior Vice President of Worldwide Marketing Philip Schiller, is the most beautiful consumer device they have ever created. Now operating on the iOS 6, the iPhone 5 has a 4-inch Retina display, ultrafast wireless technology and speedy performance thanks to the proprietary A6 chip, all backed up by a longer battery life.

The iOS 6

Currently hailed as the world’s most advanced operating system, the iOS 6 is packed with more than 200 new features that will make end users extremely pleased with this jewel-like device’s functionality. Among its new features include Facebook integration, the Passbook for password organization, more languages, and the all new Maps app. What makes this app stand out is its Apple-designed cartography and turn-by-turn navigation configuration. Of course there are also the other Siri and Facebook-enabled apps, such as Safari and Photos.

The Design and Features

Available in white & silver or black & slate, the iPhone 5 boasts the following features.

Thin and light. Definitely the thinnest and slimmest smartphone in the world, the iPhone 5 has a 7.6mm anodized aluminum body. Look closer and you will find the diamond cut chambered edges inlaid with glass for a more sleek finish.

Large display. The larger Retina display enables optimized use of the apps and the widescreen HD video. Instead of making the screen wider, it is actually made to be taller, so you can still operate the iPhone 5 with one hand.

Apple iPhone 5

Fast performance and longer battery life. Browsing, downloading and streaming content as well as launching apps are now faster with the iPhone 5, thanks to the blazingly fast wireless standards it supports, which include DC-HSDPA and the latest LTE technology. Its dual band 802.11n Wi-Fi support can reach speeds up to 150 Mbps. Thanks to the all-new Apple-designed A6 chip, the iPhone 5 boasts up to twice the CPU and graphics performance of its iPhone predecessors. This allows maximum functionality without easily draining the battery.

iSight camera. At 8 megapixels, the iSight camera in iPhone 5 is 4 times smaller than that of the iPhone 4s. It now has a panorama features that could sweep through wide panoramic sceneries and capture them at a resolution of up to 28 megapixels. Although the protective lens cover is visibly thinner, the fact that it is made of sapphire crystal makes it several times more durable than glass. The new camera also features a new FaceTime HD front facing camera for use in FaceTime calls, self-portraits and video recording of 720p HD video. The iCloud’s Shared Photo Streams is ideal for automatically sharing snapped photos on your phone with your contacts. Other new features include video face detection for up to 10 faces and simultaneous still photos and video recording.

Audio. The iPhone 5 is now integrated with new noise cancelling technology, erasing all background noises, while foreground noises and voices are amplified and enhanced, thanks to its directional microphone system. The all-new Apple Earpods come with this unit.
