The Pumpkin Room
No, it’s not Halloween. And it’s not an oversized Jack-o’-Lantern, either. edg Creatives seems bent on putting an edge on creativity (pun intended) as it came up with a room unlike any other for their Beijing offices. Inspired by the pumpkin-turned-horse-drawn carriage in “Cinderella”, David Ho wove his magic with The Pumpkin Room.
This brainstorming room is in the shape of a pumpkin. But its functionality is not limited to being just a room or something that acts like an office cubicle. It also works very well as partition walls, effectively maximizing office space while never detracting from the original floor plan and design.
Conduct meetings with your team in this futuristic meeting room. The panels, made from polycarbonate material, helps in channeling the creative aura of anyone who steps within its confines. In the evenings or late at night, flourescent tubes easily transforms this meeting box into something resembling a futuristic structure.
The wall partitions are constructed with two polycarbonate panels and these panels are fitted seamlessly around a sturdy structure made of steel.
Privacy without isolation. That is what the Pumpkin Room subtly offers. While it effectively separates you from the rest of the room, it does not completely cut you off. The polycarbonate panels have a two-fold function: they are transparent so you will still remain in contact with the others inside the office, and it also works to conduct light inside the Pumpkin Room.
With such a creative workplace to work in, there is no doubt that the creative minds and the designers in the offices of edg Creatives have their creative juices flowing.
