The Orée Board
Sadly, beauty is sometimes sacrificed for functionality. But the tides are turning as more and more creativity is spilling towards technology. The wooden keyboard designed by Orée is a perfect example. Made from premium quality maple and walnut wood, this bluetooth-equipped wireless computer keyboard will add elegance and class to your computing experience.
The French are getting in on the action by creating a keyboard design that they proudly showed to the world for the first time at the TENT in the 2012 London design week. It is portable, it is wireless, and it has bluetooth connectivity. Best of all, it has universal compatibility with devices other than personal desktop computers, such as laptops, tablets, and even smartphones.
Orée’s keen eye for beauty is apparent on the carefully hand-drawn details carved onto the wood, as well as on the keys. Made from a single slice of premium maple and walnut wood, the Orée Board is, undoubtedly proof of masterful craftsmanship.
Every unit of this keyboard is made-to-order and handcrafted in their workshop in the south of France. This is made entirely by hand, starting with the wood, strategically cut in order to preserve it. It is easy to clean, and the keys are separated by a distance of at most 1mm. Its soft and smooth finish is also done by hand.
It has an On/Off switch, with three indicator lights for Power, Scroll Lock, and Caps Lock. Oh, and in case you didn’t notice, it is numkey-less. There is also a removable flap for where you can place the two AA batteries. Since it is made to order, you can customize it to a layout other than Mac or Windows style. You can even choose what type of engraving you would like.
Is this a keyboard you want to tap away in?
