With its timber frame and a trailer bed that claims to be able to bear up to 14,000 pounds (around 6,350 kgs) of solid weight, this “stick-built” house is tastefully elegant and structurally sound.

Construction of the Protohaus, which was done under the supervision of S.C. Holley Construction, had its focus on sustainability and functionality. They made use only of recyclable and reclaimed materials. At the same time, it allows for the remote solid and liquid waste disposal, thanks to its separate fresh, gray, and black water systems. To conserve energy and lessen its impact on the environment, the Protohaus was designed to rely on solar and wind power.
