Booleanos Chest of Drawers

The Booleanos Chest of Drawers by Joel Escalona

A chest of drawers and a centerpiece. Interior decorating doesn’t get any better than this.

Boolean logic would dictate sets of relationships where even unexpected bits and pieces could be combined and form a cohesive whole until such time that it actually makes sense. That is what Mexican designer Joel Escalona worked with when he designed a chest of drawers, which he then aptly named “Booleanos”.

Booleanos includes a set of two drawers, with a third drawer intersecting the two at a strategic angle. Apparently, he was inspired by the concept of construction and deconstruction, and let the design revolve around the rich and distinct finishes of the materials used. Take note of the differences in the woods’ textures and colors.

Art, architecture and geometry are all skillfully combined in this chest of drawers, which would look eye-catching as a centerpiece in any room.
